After a late night affair on Trade me we unwittingly purchased a rather large wood and charcoal barbeque. Not quite sure what to do with it, we came up with the plan to set up a stall at the Gourmet Night Markets in Coronation Park Mount Maunganui. Each week was a new adventure and pretty smokey experience for all! One of our favourites was the sticky pork belly with slaw, followed closely by pork spare ribs and kingfish skewers. Kim Renshaw market director does a fantastic job bringing all sorts of food lovers together for a wonderful night of indulgence that's really cheap! Roll on next summer we can't wait to go back.

Tim Turvey from Clearview Estate is known for his antics and stories and this night he lived up to his reputation. Food and wine was matched beautifully and guests laughed heartily to the winemaker and his tales. A great night for all.

Not long after the Maketu sisters won the coveted Masterchef title, they along with Andrew and the team put on a 7 course degustation dinner at Elizabeth. It was a huge success. The hangi was a real favourite along with the fairy floss and chilli chocolate spheres. Mills Reef matched the wine with each course and nearly eighty people attended. Fingers crossed we'll be able to work with them again!
