Changing of the guard..

As of the 1st of February Elizabeth sees a changing of the guard. Elizabeth has a great history of delivering great food and amazing coffee and this is a tradition the new owners want to continue. George and Connie come from a background in the industry with George owning Henry and Ted Cafe in Papamoa East, and together they own two espresso coffee houses called The Coffee Project. Their passion is great food and coffee and they aim to bring this passion to the Elizabeth Cafe & Larder.

There will be a few changes as they take over this famous establishment, the most noticeable will be the coffee. This will change from day one. George and Connie are keen coffee drinkers and have developed their other sites into some of the best coffee shops in the bay. With that in mind, they are bringing the Kokako brand to Elizabeth. Kokako is an Auckland based roastery that are committed to excellence and innovation in specialty coffee. They are passionate about the coffee industry and have a strong focus on building long term relationships from crop to cup. Kokako is certified organic and fairtrade and this is just one of the reasons George and Connie love their product.

You will see a few small cosmetic changes with the addition of greenery from Theo Spargo. The historic wall will see a makeover but as we all know, "Rome wasn't built in a day" so watch this space. As they find their feet you will see the menu change bringing in a fresh look to your favourite cafe dishes. The cabinet will also offer more of what you want, with healthy and sweet grab and go because they know the corporate world is fast paced. In the meantime they are excited to meet and greet as many of you who come through the door... so be sure to say hi.
